retirement benefits in calendar year of full retirement age

Recommended Posts

I understand I can start to collect retirement benefits at the beginning of the calendar year in which I reach full retirement. Is there a reduction in benefits?

In the year you attain full retirement age you can earn up to $46,920 before any reduction takes place. After that, the SSA will withhold $1 in benefits for every $3 you exceed the limit.
