Pacomo 0 Posted November 28, 2018 I hope this site can help me because my Internet search has not yielded an answer on this topic. My wife passed away, and my daughter receives a monthly benefit from her mother’s Social Security account. She is in high school now and wants to get a part-time job. Will her paycheck cause her monthly Social Security benefit to be reduced or forfeited? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
Devin Carroll 1 Posted November 30, 2018 If a child is receiving benefits from Social Security, they are subject to a limit on the amount of earnings they can receive from wages or net earnings from self employment. These income limits change on an annual basis and for 2019 is set at $17,640.
Pacomo 0 Posted December 1, 2018 So it’s exactly the same as an adult who gets their own Social Security before full retirement age.
