William 0 Posted June 16, 2020 Hello Devin, My mother is a retired teacher and receives her monthly teacher's pension and a very small Social Security check each month. My father passed away in 2018. My mother asked if she could receive her spousal benefit since it would be larger than what her social security check would be. They told her that she could not because her monthly teacher pension was larger than her spouse's monthly social security benefit. Is this correct? Thank you for your response.
